Deodorization

Deodorization is an important part of the restoration process. It is defined as the depriving of odor, especially of an unpleasant nature. Through various means, our trained and certified technicians are able to treat and neutralize odors, thereby eliminating them.

To ensure unpleasant odors are eliminated, Paul Davis Restoration performs the following procedures:

• Remove the primary source of the odor
• Cleaning and/or sealing surfaces that have been contaminated
• Recreating the conditions of penetration with appropriate odor counteractants
• Direct application or generating a fog or gas that seeks out, and combines with and neutralizes the smell.

Other very effective methods include:

• Using oxidizing gas, or ozone, to completely neutralize odors.
• Using a highly absorbent compound to attract malodorous moisture.
• Pairing – or using a chemical to wash the air which is used extensively in smoke odor neutralization
• Disinfecting and/or sanitizing to control or kill odor-causing microorganisms
• Digesting, using deodorants containing living organisms that produce protein digesting enzymes
